The Havenhurst Bed by Croft House is handmade locally in Los Angeles, California. The simply presented combination of industrial steel and reclaimed Douglas Fir give this piece its natural, rustic feel. The Douglas Fir boards are salvaged from different bits of architecture throughout the Southern California landscape. The natural wax finish sinks into the old growth grain and enhances the color of the wood to a warm, red brown. The clean, modern lines of the bed frame are defined by an angled steel detail, creating a firm boundary for the wood boards. The steel helps to dispel the farmhouse feel of an all wood bed, and allows the understated design to acclimate to any space, from a cabin on the North Shore of Tahoe to a loft in downtown, Los Angeles.
Reclaimed wood has a wide range of color and texture due to weathering. The wood is up cycled from various sources so no two pieces are alike. As a result, cracks, nail holes and uneven surface textures are to be expected.
